Details

Bandra West is where Bollywood people and wealthy expats live. It feels less traditionally Indian than most of Mumbai. Linking Road and Hill Road have shopping and restaurants that stay open until 11 PM on weekends. Bandstand Promenade runs along the water - families walk there in the evenings. The restaurant scene is good - Bastian gets celebrities, Pali Village Café is where you can sit with a book and nobody cares. English is common since expats and tourists come here. The area is spread out though, so you'll need Uber between places. It's safe with visible security, but it's also expensive. Young professionals and creatives, not backpackers. Street art, boutique shops, cafes - not tourist landmarks.
