Details

Shanghai's financial district in Pudong with the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower, and World Financial Center making up that skyline you see from the Bund. Pure business district - banks, headquarters, people in suits. Feels safe and modern but sterile, like any financial district anywhere. The area empties out at night once office workers leave, though the metro stays busy. Most food is corporate cafeterias or business lunch spots that close early evening. English is common since international companies are here. Security is good with private guards and police, especially around the observation decks that tourists visit. Useful if you're here on business, but there's nothing to do. Most people visit the towers during the day then go back across the river for dinner and nightlife.
