Toronto, Canada
Italian neighborhood along College Street with old cafes, patios, and local spots. More affordable than downtown, gets quiet after midnight.
Little Italy runs along College Street from Bathurst to Shaw - Italian culture mixed with Portuguese influences and newer cafes. You'll see older Italian residents, students from University of Toronto, young professionals at cafes. During the day people are shopping, working remotely, checking out murals and shops. More neighborhood-focused than tourist-oriented but visitors are fine. English is common along with Italian and Portuguese. Cafe Diplomatico's patio has been around since 1968 and people eat alone there all the time. Good foot traffic during day and evening, quiets down after midnight when bars close. College Street has decent lighting but side streets are darker. Mix of Italian families, Portuguese immigrants, students, young professionals.
