Yerevan, Armenia
The Cascade area has the giant stairway monument surrounded by cafes and galleries. Safe with an artistic vibe, especially if you like cafe culture. Prices are higher than other areas.
The Cascade is a giant stairway monument that climbs the hillside with sculptures at each level. The Cafesjian Center for the Arts inside has contemporary exhibitions. At the top you get city views and can see Mount Ararat on clear days. The surrounding streets are full of cafes that attract artists, digital nomads, and young professionals. The area is active from morning through late evening with outdoor seating along tree-lined streets. You'll see lots of people working alone on laptops in cafes. English is common here since it draws an international crowd. There are regular police patrols and the area stays populated late. The uphill walking gets tiring because of the elevation. Prices are higher than other neighborhoods but still reasonable compared to Western Europe.
